Collection comprises two photograph albums containing photographs of Eagle Ranch, San Luis Obispo County, California in 1890. Volume one contains 24 photograph; volume two contains 11 photographs and one newspaper clipping dated July 10, 1945 (probably added by donor after creation of the album). The photographs show the landscape and environs of Baron John Henry Von Schroeder's Eagle Ranch, located near Atascadero, California. Photographs also show Von Schroeder's family, the main house and farm buildings located on the ranch.

Biographical / Historical
Baron John Henry Von Schroeder was married to Mamie Donahue, daughter of Peter Donahue, who founded the Union Iron Works, San Francisco. Along with Eagle Ranch, Von Schroeder owned the Hotel Rafael in San Rafael, California.
