Scope and Contents
Some early stereographs feature handwritten numbers and titles. Watkins began issuing stereocards with printed labels on yellow cardstock around 1863. These were followed by images printed on orange cardstock. In 1867, Watkins won an award for landscape photography at the Paris International Exposition and printed this information on the back of his stereoviews.
