This folder contains a copy of the San Francisco Examiner from April 21, 1906 along with an undated newspaper clipping about the San Francisco abolitionist and civil rights activist Mary Ellen Pleasant. A small folder contains letters written to Dr. Bine in the days, weeks and months after the 1906 earthquake. Some smaller letters have been pasted onto sheets of paper. Another small folder contains typed copies of information supplied by Dr. Bine to his daughter Marie Louise in preparation for her book (see Folder 1) and a handwritten draft of the book's index.
